Building Resilient Futures 2026: Higher Ed’s Broader Purpose

Locations: McGill University, Montreal, Quebec & University of Calgary, Calgary, AlbertaBuilding Resilient Futures is a unique, action-oriented event co-sponsored by Universities Canada and the Sustainability in Higher Education Across Canada Network (SHEAC) and affiliated with SDSN Canada.
The event marks the culmination of Universities Canada’s three-year Climate Initiative and will convene leaders, practitioners, and innovators from across Canada to roll up their sleeves and work to move from ideas to action and tackle the critical question of How can we leverage our collective institutional capacity to drive the change and innovation needed for climate-resilient and regenerative futures?

Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Canada Annual Symposium
Together | Ensemble is Canada’s leading national conference for collaborating and accelerating progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Date: May 19–20, 2026
This year’s theme is Mobilizing Local Action for Global Impact. Bringing together intergenerational Indigenous people, youth, academia, government, business and community leaders, we will focus on localizing SDG action within our communities to effect lasting global change. Day 1 will be in-person and virtual, and Day 2 will be in-person only.
